About Us

Hi, my name is Madeline and I am the creator/founder of By Madeline. I began to make soap for myself as part of my Self Care ritual. After completing my first handcrafted, coconut oil soap, I was hooked. I could not go back to harsh soaps and body wash ever again. Making plant based soap has given me the gift of bringing in different Earth elements into my everyday Self Care . 

My passion for health and living a more natural life grew immensely. Cleansing myself with plant based soaps and moisturizing with natural oils became very important to me. As this passion grew, I decided to consciously craft products that have healing qualities while adding a bit more meaning into my everyday bathing. I enjoy spending my time researching and finding natural ingredients that nourish my skin, feed my soul and calm my mind.

My handcrafted soaps are made in small batches using the cold process method. Oils known for their nourishing qualities such as Coconut oil, Olive oil, Castor oil, Grape Seed Oil , etc., are poured at low temperatures to guarantee they keep their therapeutic properties. Infusing these oils with significant herbs, flowers and clays add to these already amazing oils. 

I create soaps the old fashioned way, which means that the naturally occurring glycerin is not removed. This gentle ingredient formed in the soap making process is perfect for hydrating your skin. My handcrafted soap is slowly cured for 4-6 weeks with each bar being unique and varying slightly in size, color, shape, and weight.
